Group Homes is a private, non-profit agency whose exclusive mission is to serve
the young people of our community. Our purpose is to offer shelter, residential
and support services to young people who are in need due to abuse, neglect, family
crisis or abandonment. We are committed to providing services and programs
including supervision and guidance of such quality that the youth with whom we work
will share our vision and become a credit to themselves and society. We work with
youth who may not have been loved or may have found themselves in a difficult family
situation and provide a nurturing environment where they can work through the pain of
their past and move on to a successful future.
A Brief History
Group Homes for Children, Inc., a private non-profit agency, has helped Montgomery’s
troubled children since 1973. Our professional staff has cared for more than three
thousand children in our five facilities. Our programs include Safe Place, an emergency
short-term care facility for homeless and runaway youth, an Infants-and-Mothers Program
serving teen girls who are pregnant or have an infant and ( F.A.C.T.S) Assessment Center.
